Smart Dubai, the government office driving Dubai’s citywide smart transformation with a vision to make Dubai the happiest city on Earth, is announced as the official City Partner for the World Blockchain Forum being held at the Burj Al Arab, Dubai on March 6th, 2017.
H.E. Dr. Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of the Smart Dubai Office, was the official representative of Dubai at the World Economic Forum 2017 in Davos, Switzerland. As part of the forum, a panel discussion was held on global smart transformation of cities, during which Dubai’s participation held a strong presence. Along with Dubai, the panel discussion hosted a group of global smart transformation pioneers from Singapore, US, Holland and India.
The Smart Dubai Office is traveling to Barcelona, Spain with partners from 14 government entities and the private sector to participate in the Smart Cities Expo & World Congress, the premier annual gathering of smart city leaders, to showcase Dubai’s smart transformation achievements of the past year.
The Smart Dubai Office, the Smart Dubai Government Establishment and the Department of Economic Development, in collaboration with IBM, have launched the city’s first cognitive computing service to facilitate business licensing and registration in Dubai. The service, which was unveiled in a press conference at the Dubai Media Office today (October 4, 2016), delivers on the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to work together for the future of Dubai, and to make Dubai the happiest city on earth, fueled by smart technology.
