The Smart Dubai Office is traveling to Barcelona, Spain with partners from 14 government entities and the private sector to participate in the Smart Cities Expo & World Congress, the premier annual gathering of smart city leaders, to showcase Dubai’s smart transformation achievements of the past year.
Her Excellency Dr. Aisha bin Bishr, Director General of the Smart Dubai Office, said: “Over the last twelve months, the Smart Dubai Office and our Strategic Partners have ushered in a new wave of policies, programs and initiatives that represent the next leap forward for smart cities, and we are honored to be traveling with these partners to showcase our accomplishments to the world.”
“Smart Dubai is leading a city transformation on an unprecedented scale. Through a comprehensive and collaborative approach guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we are establishing a new roadmap for smart cities that not only enhances resource efficiency and seamless transactions, but also positively impacts happier experiences across the city,” Her Excellency said.
“The Smart Dubai delegation to the Smart Cities Expo and World Congress further advances our mandate to make Dubai a benchmark for smart transformation for the emerging world,” she also said.
Dr. Aisha bin Bishr said: “Our partners are the key to our success. Working together, we benefit from the rich experiences of each industry and sector; increase efficiency and cost saving; and enable unified citywide experiences for all stakeholders.” Smart Dubai is currently working with 25 partners from the public and private sector to positively impact resident happiness through smart technology; open and share city data; and enable shared, connected infrastructure, she added.
Leading government entities including Dubai Chamber, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), Dubai Design District, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority and du will be exhibiting smart services and initiatives on the stand. Officials from the Department of Economic Development (DED), Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC), and the Roads and Transit Authority (RTA) will also be traveling in the delegation.
In addition to participation in the Smart Cities Exhibition, the Smart Dubai delegation will be sharing Dubai’ transformative story during the Smart Cities World Congress, as well as through several bilateral meetings with international city leaders.
The Smart Dubai Office leads Dubai’s smart city program, utilising technology innovation to improve efficiency and enhance experiences for the city, in line with its vision to make Dubai the happiest city on earth. The Smart Dubai Office works with its establishments, Smart Dubai Government and Dubai Data, and more than 25 partner entities from the government and private sector to deliver its strategic initiatives and products across six city dimensions: living, economy, governance, mobility, environment and people.
