DEWA plans special expedition to the Amazon Rainforest

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will be sending some of their employees on a special expedition to the Amazon Rainforest in Peru in May 2016. The move is part of DEWA’s ongoing efforts to achieve its vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility, and raise awareness about environmental issues, especially conserving natural resources and reducing carbon emissions.

MD & CEO of DEWA visits 200MW second phase of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) visited the second phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which holds a capacity of 200 megawatts (MW) and is one of the parks current projects, located in Seih Al-Dahal, Dubai. The progress made on the project supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to provide 7% of Dubai’s energy from clean sources by 2020.

DEWA’s Women’s Committee launches ‘Happier, Healthier, and Prettier Employee’ initiative for female staff

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA’s) Women’s Committee has launched the ‘Happier, Healthier, and Prettier Employee’ initiative for its female staff. The initiative was launched at the Women’s Committee’s meeting at DEWA’s main office in Zabeel East. It was chaired by Khawla Al Mehairi, Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Communications at DEWA, and Chairperson of DEWA’s Women’s Committee.

DEWA holds Bidder’s Conference for third phase of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised a conference for qualifying international developers who intend to send their proposals for the third phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park to produce 800MW of electricity. The project will be implemented according to the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. The conference aims to clarify details of the last stage of the bid and answer bidders’ technical, financial and legal questions and enquiries.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received a high-level delegation from the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The delegation was led by Fritz Horst Melsheimer, President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and Dr. Hans-Jorg Schmidt-Trenz, CEO of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The delegation visited to participate in the 5th Dubai Hamburg Business Forum.
