Company unveils new handset with Selfie-light for EGP2,888 during Jumia Black Friday
Global technology leader Xiaomi has launched in Egypt its Redmi Note 5A Prime, a brand new smartphone that combines premium quality with an amazing price, marking yet another key milestone in its bid to strengthen its presence in the local market. Xiaomi is collaborating with leading e-commerce platform Jumia to offer Redmi Note 5A Prime exclusive online at a price of EGP 2,888 as part of the Jumia Black Friday festival, which is ongoing till12 December.
Redmi Note 5A Prime is Xiaomi’s first phone with a Selfie-light that simulates the effect of natural light. This produces gorgeous selfies with clearer facial features, brighter skin tone, and more expressive eyes. Paired with a 16 MP front facing camera, it ensures selfies come out bright and clear even in challenging conditions. Redmi Note 5A Prime also features 5.5-inch HD display with Corning® Gorilla® Glass, a 13MP f/2.0 ear camera and 3080mAh high-capacity battery.
At its core, Redmi Note 5A Prime features an octa-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 435 processor, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. It also has a built-in fingerprint sensor at the back for added security, an uncommon staple in smartphones in this price range.
Redmi Note 5A Prime comes with a two-plus-one SIM tray design, which allows two SIM cards and one microSD card to be used at the same time, while memory can be expanded up to 128GB. Finally, a built-in IR blaster means the device also doubles up as a universal remote control.
Redmi Note 5A Prime will also be made available at Xiaomi’s first Authorized Mi Store in Cairo City Stars Mall, which has seen overwhelming response from customers during Black Friday. Xiaomi’s rapid growth in Egypt comes at a time when Egypt is witnessing a vibrant digital evolution which is seeing an exponential mobile penetration growth rate.
