Ralph Lauren announces the next iteration of its iconic Stadium collection reissues: Indigo Stadium. This special capsule draws inspiration from the original Stadium collection, celebrating the sporty spirit of the 1992 Summer Games, and updates it with an indigo dye twist, reminiscent of denim.
Shot in Japan, a country with a long tradition of indigo dying, the ad campaign features the new six-piece collection on a model as well as famed dancer, Taisuke. The capsule’s signature Stadium silhouettes with original Polo Stadium and P-Wing graphics - a reference to the original 1992 collection - are met with new indigo fabrication treatments, creating a modern feel. A popover jacket and booney hat with bleach effects have a bold, graphic appeal meant to resemble a pair of vintage bleached out denim, while a windbreaker jacket and tear-away track pants have light abrasion on a dark indigo base to resemble a barely worn pair of dark denim. Additional pieces in the collection include a P-Wing indigo-dyed fleece and denim-inspired long bill hat.
The Indigo Stadium capsule will be available in a limited distribution at the end of September, via the Polo App, at select Opening Ceremony, Fred Segal and Bodega stores in North America, as well as select global Polo Ralph Lauren flagship stores and select retail partners.
