Ministry of Health and Prevention announces 24-hour operations of Al Madam Medical Center

Initiative falls in line with active efforts to address needs of people and enhance customer satisfaction

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has recently announced that the Al Madam Medical Center in Sharjah will be operating 24 hours a day in an effort to increase the satisfaction of patients and provide citizens with round-the-clock access to health services. This decision falls in line with the Center’s commitment to address the needs of the region and encourage medical professionals to accommodate the requirements of a growing number of patients.

Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry’s Health and Prevention Assistant Sector - Health Centers and Clinics, emphasized the Ministry's initiative to provide quality health services to the community as well as improve the quality of labor regulations and the development of health facilities to ensure easy access in accordance with international standards.  He further underscored the efforts of the Ministry to improve the national health index through the development of health centers, the provision of the necessary medical supplies, and equipment to facilitate operations according to international standards. These, he explained creates a working environment that guarantees the quality of medical services provided to citizens and residents of the state.

Dr. Ayesha Suhail, Director of Primary Healthcare, MOHAP, stated that Al Madam Medical Center began providing 24-hour health services since last year, with assistance to be confined to emergency cases starting at 10:00 pm. This includes the treatment of pathological conditions, facilitating emergency situations and school health requirements, providing child health services and immunizations, health education, examination before marriage, home care for the elderly, and fitness examination for university students.

She further noted the importance of developing qualified staff with adequate training to ensure competent medical services; improving the quality of health services provided to the individual; and meeting the health challenges in society. In addition, there is a stronger drive to provide all the requirements and harness all avenues to maintain the safety of patients – including competent staff for cultivating the best possible working environment.
