Beirut, 2 October 2014 - Lebanese mosaic designer and Endeavor Entrepreneur Taline Assi, CEO of Mosaic Marble, was honored with the 2014 Excellence in Historic Preservation Award by the Preservation League of New York State. The award recognized the stunning mosaic designs and installations of Mosaic Marble at the c, one of New York's historic landmarks since 1875. Mosaic Marble's work contributed to protecting the city's treasured heritage and transforming one of the most monumental buildings surviving from the Post-Civil War era, into a stunning art masterpiece and a bustling cultural and community hub.
"Contributing to saving world heritage is a milestone achievement for Mosaic Marble. It is extremely exciting for us to join hands with people investing in their history; we hope that more governments around the world and in Lebanon will invest in historic preservation, to revitalize their communities' cultural heritage and celebrate it", said the bright-eyed entrepreneur Taline Assi.
Working alongside internationally renowned architects and a carefully selected team tasked for this challenging mission, the skilled artisans of Mosaic Marble lead by Taline, handled the design, hand cutting and installation of a new mosaic flooring which replaced an old floor in complete disrepair. After two and a half years of restoration work costing $18.5 million, the previously neglected building was rescued and renovated to regain its position as an icon of Brooklyn.
