University reaffirms commitment to consolidate values of belonging, loyalty and the spirit of the union among learners
[UAE, December 1, 2014] – Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) reaffirmed its continuous commitment to academic and scientific excellence inspired by the UAE’s founding values and principles during its on-campus celebration of the 43rd National Day. The event, which featured a host of activities reflecting the country’s national heritage, attracted a wide participation from learners, faculty members, and administrators who expressed their pride and patriotism. The attendees affirmed their commitment to help re-shape the future of the UAE’s educational system to drive the country’s overall development.
Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, HBMSU Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), said: “December 2nd is a historical day as it marks the UAE’s birth. Since its foundation, the country has emerged as a leading model of humanitarian development and cultural progress. HBMSU expressed its keenness to effectively support and contribute to the vision of the country’s leaders to position the UAE among the world’s most progressive countries by 2021. The university continues to enrich knowledge and consolidate the culture of creativity, innovation and scientific research in the country through smart learning.”
Dr. Al Awar said: “Celebrating 43 years of significant accomplishments has inspired us to continue learning from our rich history and from our founding fathers to achieve a new educational breakthrough. We aim to help build a young generation socially and academically qualified to deliver more growth and development. For our part, we are committed to consolidating the values of national coherence and unity amongst learners, while strengthening their loyalty and sense of belongingness to the UAE. We believe in the importance of fully investing in the skills of our countrymen. This has been strongly advocated by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who once said, ‘The real spirit behind progress is the human spirit’.”
Dr. Al Awar concluded: “It gives me great honor to extend my heartfelt congratulations to H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Excellencies the Rulers of the Emirates. On this great occasion, we at HBMSU reaffirm our commitment to abide by the wise vision of our leadership to continue moving towards excellence by promoting the culture of innovation and offering education based on the highest standards of efficiency and credibility.”
