Beirut, October 2014 – In order to complete the initiative it had launched several months back in partnership with the non-governmental agency Teach a Child, GS, a leading house ofc, visited different schools around Lebanon and distributed the outfits it had created to less fortunate children.
On Wednesday October 15th and Thursday October 16th 2014, representatives from GS and Teach a Child, along with volunteers and members of the press, visited the Ashrafieh Public Secondary School, Zkak el Blat Public School, as well as the Khaled Jumblatt Public School in Aley. Students were delighted to receive brand new outfits that were tailor made just for them, expressing their excitement with big smiles that spread joy all around.
For the past six months, GS has passionately worked on creating and designing complete, head-to-toe, tailored outfits for more than 800 children, as it believes no less fortunate child should feel any different from other students. Each student received a shirt, a pair of jeans, a sweater and a jacket, in addition to a backpack, guaranteeing each student is fully attired for the start of the new school year.
Mr. Jamil Rayess, General Manager of HST Co. said: “We have worked so fervently the past several months to make sure we distribute the outfits to all of the children at the beginning of their school year and we are overwhelmed with joy to see all of our hard work pay off and unfold so successfully.”
He continued, “Our core mission meets that of Teach a Child’s as we both believe that kids always deserve a chance to live, experiment, learn and grow with the best emotional package possible. This initiative is one that has warmed our hearts and souls, wanting nothing more than to put a smile upon their faces, contribute to a bit of warmth and ensure their happiness.”
This initiative was launched in celebration of the retail company’s 40 year anniversary, and as it has filled them with such gratitude, GS will strive to keep on serving the community for many years to come.
