Application bests other entries in competition of Arab governments’ smart apps
UAE, 23 March, 2015 - Dubai Courts has revealed that its Dubai Courts Smart Application, the world’s first of its kind judicial based smart services app, has been awarded the ‘Smart Government Shield Award’ at the UAE level category of the 6th Smart Government Competition held in Kuwait. The award was received by Abdulrahim Ahmad Almudhareb, Director – IT Department, Dubai Courts, in a special awarding ceremony held recently at the Symphony Style Hotel, Kuwait. The competition was organized as part of the forum held by the Pan Arab Excellence Award Academy under the auspices of Sheikh Mohammed Al-Abdullah Al Mubarak Al-Sabah, State Minister for Chairman of the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), in Kuwait.
The award was given in recognition of the smart apps significant role as a fundamental pillar in the move to consolidate smart processes—seamlessly managing all kinds of cases with the highest standards of promptness and efficiency. The award also seeks to recognize Dubai Courts continued commitment and support for Dubai’s transition to a smart government, which is ably reflected in its aim to provide reliable smart services to its customers.
His Excellency Expert Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, Director General, Dubai Courts, said, “Our smart application represents a proactive step in providing highly interactive legal and judicial services across external customers, internal auditors, secretaries, execution officials and judges in order to ensure happiness, satisfaction and a state of well-being.”
The Director General further pointed out that the smart app was created by Dubai Courts based on the latest technologies and under the highest standards of information security, which has been approved for use by the Dubai Smart Government and the rest of the world. He added that the launch of the app is expected to play a significant role in the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform the emirate as one of the world’s leading smart governments.
“The Dubai Court smart app processes case applications registered in the local judiciary in a highly reliable and efficient way. The services are intended to offer convenience and efficiency to customers, law offices, services offices, secretaries, process servers and judges. The first batch of smart services, which includes 30 services, has successfully enhanced the dealers’ happiness as it boosts the decision-making by the judges and staff with promptness, accuracy and transparency. Also, the application classifies the application forms electronically before sending them directly to competent authorities, including personal status, commercial, real estate or labor cases. This success motivates us to work continuously to convert all the 210 remaining services to smart services by the end of this year,” Al Mansouri concluded.
The 6th Smart Government Competition aims to appreciate the Arab achievements and to honor the governments that have achieved outstanding level by providing smart applications able to facilitate people’s life, reduce distance and enhance transparency. Countries that participated in this year's competition include the UAE, Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Morocco.
