Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organises events and activities aimed at promoting Islamic values and traditions, throughout the holy month of Ramadan as part of its continuous efforts to promote communication and collaboration and social cohesion among all its staff. The activities begin with DEWA’s Ramadan Tent, which is located at DEWA’s Head Office, and serves Iftar meals to DEWA staff who are on duty during Maghreb prayers. The Iftar meals are also available to the public of all nationalities, throughout Ramadan. DEWA also provides Iftar meals for employees who work during Iftar in various departments, including the complaints department, emergency services, electricity and water network operations in different DEWA locations, Jebel Ali Power Station, and Warsan.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, congratulated DEWA’s employees on the occasion of Ramadan, wishing them health and excellence.
“As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, and efforts to promote social cohesion among staff in a multi-national environment, DEWA annually organises various charitable and Islamic activities to enhance brotherhood, cohesion, values, and the spirit of giving, in an environment that reflects the UAE heritage and traditions, as well as Islamic values, which are based on tolerance, brotherhood, and love. This enhances the principles of sharing, teamwork, tolerance, unity, and cooperation among staff. This is positively reflected on their happiness and productivity,” said Al Tayer.
Daily Iftar meals are provided to 2,200 fasting people at different locations, including DEWA’s Head Office, and the electricity generation station and water desalination plant in Jebel Ali.
