Emirati youths to steer future of facilities and waste management industry
Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities, waste and energy management solutions in the GCC, has announced its participation in the upcoming 16th edition of Careers UAE, the leading national fair for job seekers and employers exclusively for Emiratis running from May 16 to 18, 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Imdaad will use Careers UAE as a platform for identifying and developing young Emirati talents with the potential to become leaders in the facilities and waste management industry. With women accounting for 18 per cent or the majority of unemployed Emirati youths, Imdaad will particularly focus on hiring female talents.
Jamal Abdullah Lootah, CEO, Imdaad, said: “Imdaad believes in the importance of supporting the UAE’s vision of increasing the number of UAE Nationals who are productive members of the workforce as embodied by the national Emiratisation program. We believe in the effectiveness of job fairs such as Careers UAE in reducing the unemployment rate among Emirati youths and encouraging young Nationals to pursue fulfilling careers while contributing to national development.”
Imdaad has previously recruited five young Emirati women who were eventually placed in strategic business units involved with operations, finance, human resources, customer relations, marketing and business development under its Elham (‘Inspire’) initiative. Launched in 2014, Elham is a nationalization program by Imdaad, which looks at encouraging young Emiratis, to consider pursuing productive career paths with one of the leading facilities management providers in the region and become future industry leaders. The initiative is in line with the UAE’s thrust towards providing Emiratis with equal opportunities in the local workforce.
Imdaad will once again highlight Elham and the various employment opportunities available with the company, including comprehensive training and professional development programs and competitive employee benefits, at Careers UAE 2016.
“Over the years, Elham has been instrumental for Imdaad to continue its mission and reach out to more youths through our various initiatives for addressing the current unemployment gap. Part of our responsibility towards our country and its communities is to develop National talents and mould them into future FM professionals and leaders,” said Lootah.
