Learners from Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) recently concluded their successful participation at the 8th International Research Symposium in Service Management held at Yonsei University in South Korea. Their presence in the symposium was in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of HBMSU, to foster a culture of research excellence within the university community. Taking part in one of the world’s most important conferences on scientific research also aligns with HBMSU’s efforts to help the country’s citizens prepare, explore, and build a future that is based on the pillars of innovation, technology, quality, and scientific research. HBMSU enjoys a high level of confidence from the international academic community as demonstrated by its active participation in the recently concluded global symposium. The pioneering university aims to instill a passion for research, innovation and knowledge in the country’s future generations and young leaders apart from preparing them for the 21st Century’s rapid changes and evolving requirements. During the South Korean event, two case studies prepared by HBMSU learners titled ‘Innovation as a Strategy for enhanced public value provision: A Case study approach’ and ‘Innovativeness Culture from a Service-Dominant Logic Perspective: Conceptualization and Scale Development’ were presented by Mohammed Al Khazraji, Abu Dhabi Government IT Services and Ahmed Hakim from Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services. Al Khazraji and Hakim led the successful transformation of innovative ideas into concrete achievements in line with the UAE Government’s development plans.
HBMSU Chancellor Dr. Mansoor Al Awar said that cementing the university’s presence in international forums forms part of HBMSU’s strategic priorities. HBMSU exerts all efforts to gain and learn best experiences, expertise, and practices in scientific research, innovation, quality, and smart learning.
Dr. Al Awar said: “The growing trust of the international community in the university is the result of our continued commitment to work in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the President of HBMSU, to strengthen the university’s scientific research capability, one the most important features of the leading global academic institutions. We will continuously re-engineer the future of learning through smart technology, innovation, and scientific research to meet the requirements of the 21st Century, in addition to enhancing our teaching methods to revolutionize the Arab World’s learning landscape.”
“We will continue with our mission to prepare the country’s citizens to be effective leaders of the future, messengers of knowledge, and nation builders as they are the real wealth of the UAE. We are committed to achieving excellence and leadership in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to be a university that is implementing today what other universities in the world will begin implementing after 10 years. This is aligned with the ‘Dubai 10x’ initiative launched by H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai a city of the future,” he said.
“The creative ideas presented during the international symposium in South Korea reflect the pioneering skills of our learners who achieved research, scientific and academic excellence, strengthening further our confidence in the capability of the younger generation to lead the UAE’s growth and development. Their achievements encourage us to continuously create a unique and high-level learning environment to nurture their full potentials, as well as provide them with essential tools to ensure their success and prepare them for leadership roles in meeting and anticipating future challenges,” added the HBMSU Chancellor.
He concluded: “Our successful participation at the 8th International Research Symposium in Service Management is not new to our university as we have been excellently representing the UAE in many global scientific, academic, and research events over the years. We reaffirm our commitment to strengthen our international cooperation, enhance our scientific knowledge and research capabilities, and enrich and transfer modern knowledge to positively transform people’s lives around the world.”
