Ericsson UDC solution boosts user experience for Korek Telecom subscribers

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has been chosen by Korek Telecom, Iraq, to support data consolidation and high-quality subscriber experiences through Ericsson’s User Data Consolidation (UDC) solution. Ericsson UDC provides consolidation of user data for network functions such as user authentication, service authorization, mobility management and fraud protection. It also reduces the risk of service degradation or outages under severe signaling storm events. Ericsson UDC supports different access types including 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi and fixed IMS. As a result of the deployment, Korek Telecom will be able to consolidate and protect user data in real-time using one common database and a range of front-end systems. Data can also be made available to trusted partners to form the basis of attractive new service offerings. At the same time, the solution offers a unique advanced protection mechanist that maximizes the system throughput and service availability of the database under signaling storm significantly reducing the risk of service degradation or outages.
