ERICSSON CAPTURES CRUCIAL STEPS TO PREPARE FOR A WORLD POWERED BY IoT

  • 15 billion Internet of Things (IoT) connections worldwide by 2021
  • IoT to address global challenges including climate change and fast urbanization

 Ericsson is showcasing its latest solutions in the Internet of Things (IoT) space during IoTX, the biggest IoT event in the Middle East powered by GITEX, between March 29 and 31 at Dubai World Trade Center.

 During the event, Ericsson will demonstrate its capabilities across a variety of sectors including Smart Cities, Public Safety, Smart Metering, Transportation, among others demontsrating the role of connected devices to address global challenges such as climate change and fast urbanization.

”Our latest version of the Mobility Report predicts 15 billion Internet of Things (IoT) connections worldwide by 2021.  We believe that the IoT is the main dynamic behind Ericsson’s vision of 50 billion connected devices, and a fundamental transformation agent in the Networked Society. Through our participation and sponsorship of the event, we aim to discuss with our partners and key industry players how to prepare for the success of the Internet of Things in this region, while we showcase our cutting edge technology and software of the future be it in the field of connected devices or connected smart cities,” said Rafiah Ibrahim, Head of Ericsson Region Middle East and Africa.

 Ericsson will showcase Smart Sustainable Cities demonstrations, where four areas of a smart city is demonstarted: a Competitive City, Safe City, Resilient City, and Efficient City determining how cities are permitted to meet the many challenges of urbanization and accomplish their potential.

 IoTX event provides the coverage of future generations of internet security, mobility data and hardware solutions. It is the largest IoT event in the Middle East and is powered by GITEX, as there will be over 3000 decision makers across the MENA region to plan the collaboration opportunities for the future of the construction of smart environments. The event will be presented by highly regarded global executives of large technological corporations.
