UAE, October 1, 2014 - Dubai Smart Government’s mPay app collected AED 105 million over the first nine months of 2014, which is a spectacular increase of 600 per cent compared to the same period last year and demonstrates the rise of mobile app payments in the region. The mPay app was launched in implementation of the initiative of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council for the shift to smart government and the happiness of the people.
