‘Think with Us’ initiative creates digital communications platform for engaging maritime community to ensuring customers’ happiness
The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) officially launched today (Wednesday, March 1, 2017) the ‘Shorkum’ initiative at the 25th edition of the Dubai International Boat Show, the biggest event of its kind in the maritime navigation industry in the Middle East, as it steps up efforts to make maritime customers happy. The initiative, themed ‘Think with Us,’ has attracted a wide range of interest from visitors and exhibitors who commended the efforts of the Authority to encourage the maritime community to participate in decision-making processes and improve the customer experience. ‘Shorkum’ provides interactive and smart channels for participants to share opinions and offer innovative ideas for supporting and serving ambitious vision to build a modern, secure, and sustainable maritime sector and position the emirate among the ranks of the world’s most competitive maritime clusters.
‘Shorkum’ is an initiative in line with the DMCA’s commitment to operate in accordance with the top priorities of the Dubai Government and its vision to improve customer experiences and provide satisfaction. The initiative identifies the existing and future needs of customers through smart interactive channels where they can convey their opinions, suggestions, and ideas particularly in maritime affairs, and then it provides an integrated system to respond immediately or take appropriate changes to certain maritime services, legislative updates, and improvements to operational processes consistent with the highest standards of excellence, quality and innovation.
Amer Ali, Executive Director of DMCA, said: “The ‘Shorkum’ initiative provides an innovative platform for facilitating the exchange of ideas that everyone can participate in and benefit from and which can advance the Dubai Maritime City Authority’s efforts to lay out the path to success as we turn the goals embodied in the Maritime Sector Strategy designed to develop and enhance Dubai’s maritime sector into one of the world’s best maritime hubs into reality.”
Ali added: “The initiative calls for collective thinking in promoting new and innovative approaches to improve the quality of services in a manner that is consistent with the aspirations of customers - whether they are other government bodies, the private sector, individuals, or regional and international investors. It is in line with efforts to ensure customers’ happiness which is a top priority for the government following the directions of our wise leaders, who view happiness and positivity as a lifestyle, a governmental commitment, and a true spirit for uniting UAE society. This new initiative underscores our key values such as leadership, collaboration, respect, innovation and excellence in serving the maritime community according to the highest standards of reliability, transparency and efficiency. ‘Shorkum’ falls under the umbrella of DMCA’s proactive initiatives aimed at ensuring customers’ happiness and satisfaction, which is being featured at DMCA’s pavilion at Dubai International Boat Show 2017. The initiative aims to strengthen communication channels with customers and enable them to share their ideas, opinions, suggestions, and initiatives for keeping pace with the smart transformation goals of the government and meeting the demands of maritime stakeholders. It includes multiple channels such as a website, smart mobile application, a call center hotline (8008855), and linkages to social media networks such as Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp. A dedicated window for people who visit the DMCA headquarters to participate in ‘Shorkum’ is also available.
