43 children graduate from DEWA nurseries in 2016

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA’s) nurseries have had 43 children graduate in 2016. These are employees’ children who turned four and completed the requirements to go to kindergarten. The graduation ceremony, organised by the nursery’s management, was attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA.

United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) approves DEWA’s solar activities programme for the UAE

The UAE’s solar power programme, the UAE Solar Programme of Activities (PoA), has been approved by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Executive Board. The PoA was initiated by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) in collaboration with Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (Dubai Carbon) to promote the development of solar power in the UAE and make it easier to register projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

DEWA’s Iftar tent provides for 2,200 people daily during Ramadan

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organises events and activities aimed at promoting Islamic values and traditions, throughout the holy month of Ramadan as part of its continuous efforts to promote communication and collaboration and social cohesion among all its staff. The activities begin with DEWA’s Ramadan Tent, which is located at DEWA’s Head Office, and serves Iftar meals to DEWA staff who are on duty during Maghreb prayers. The Iftar meals are also available to the public of all nationalities, throughout Ramadan.
